CHOY LAY FUT MORAL VALUES

MORAL VALUES & ETHICS

Chinese martial arts are not only the means of self-defense or mental training but also dealt with the system of morality and ethics. 武德 Mou-Dak in Cantonese (or Wude in Mandarin) means ‘martial morality’; it mainly deals with ‘morality of deed’ and ‘morality of mind’. Morality of deed mainly concerns with the social relations while morality of mind is primarily concern with the cultivation of inner harmony between the emotional mind and the wisdom mind. De Nittis Choy Lay Fut promotes and teaches the “Mou Dak” philosophy and wisdom. The proposed route requires seriousness and motivation, commitment, discipline, respect, honesty, humility, courage, compassion (in Chinese language: Wude), harmony of mind and body, all of these elements characterize the traditional martial art.
